Last night was probably the last time we meet Michael Charles since he and his family are moving out to Chile next January.
Michael and family have been a part of Pelita from 2000-2002 with Michael being the cathecist for Pelita. During that time me personally have learnt a lot from him, maybe not so much about bible knowledge itself (since I’m rarely in his bible study group) but more about his humilty. And how he has given away all of the comfort that world can offer to become a missionary, is also an encouraging testimony. The way Michael and Jo raise their children is also a good example for us. We do have a good time playing with their gorgeous four children.
Although we in Pelita were expecting him and family to minister in Indonesia (as he and Jo do speak a little bit of Indonesian), but after presented with the facts about Chile, I think we now all agree that it’s the best for them to go there. And we’ll keep praying that it’ll be a fruitful work there. Yes, it’s another parting and it’s sad, but it’s a good parting for God’s purpose. So Chao to Michael Charles and family.
