Stringing

My guitar’s sixth string broken 2 days ago, so I decided to re-string the whole guitar. I’ve had my guitar for more than 6 years now and I’ve never replaced any of its strings, so I guess my guitar is really overdue for strings replacement.
Apparently, I can choose different thickness for each of the strings. I have no idea on what thickness I would want, and it probably means nothing to me anyway. So I just look for the cheap set of strings. I bought Gibson Masterbuilt Premium (can’t go wrong for a Gibson right?) for $15.00 a discounted price of $15.95. It says ultra light gauge on the package, so I guess next time I can go for the heavier one and see what’s the difference. The strings are 10,12,22,27,36,47 (1st to 6th).
Took me few hours to work out how to remove the old strings and put the new ones in. As usual, Google is the source of information on how to do this. I am still not sure whether I did a proper job, but anyhow the new strings are in place and I have tuned them. I love the crisp sound of the new strings, definetely better from the old ones, but since everyone is sleeping now I can’t really hammer them, will have to wait for tomorrow. I now need a wire cutter to cut the excess string.
Just watched Vodafone Live at the Chapel, featuring Noel Gallagher, Gem Archer and a drummer (whoever he is). I like his singing better than Liam. The songs on slower tempo with acoustic settings are really good. Hope they will make a DVD or CD out of it.
